Body brush or Soft brush are a soft-bristled brush that removes finer particles and dust, adds a shine to the coat and is soothing to the horse.

A body brush, particularly a smaller design called a Face brush, can be used on the head, being careful to avoid the horse's eyes. The best brushes are made from natural fibres such as horse hair, goat hair, boar (pigs) bristles, like human hairbrushes, or tampica or other cactus fibres others are made of soft synthetic fibres.  Body brushes are generally used after a curry comb and a dandy brush.

The body brush is flat and is generally the last brush used on the horse. Goats hair body brushes and so soft they are often called a finishing brush and used immediately before going int the show ring
