Historically Dandelion has been used in the treatment of skin eruptions, sluggish bloodflow, weak arteries, constipation, jaundice and all liver complaints.
Dandelion leaf is a detoxifying herb which is useful for horses needing to clean and rebalance their metabolism. The leaves of the Dandelion plant are generally fed to horses during spring as Dandelion Leaves assists with cleansing the blood. Dandelion Leaves are high in iron and calcium as well as Vitamins A, B, and D and are traditionally used as a tonic to stimulate the bladder.
The root of the Dandelion plant has a stronger Heptatic action than that the leaf of the dandelion plant. Dandelion Root (pieces)is a herb suitable for horses and livestock. The Dandelion Root can be ground and added to feed or as a deconction of the root poured over feed.
Dandelion Root is very good in managing horses that are recovering for long term pharmaceutical drug use, vaccination reaction or illness. Being a tonic, Dandelion Root assists to clean the liver, kidneys and blood and is high in potassium and magnesium.
