Kate Rogers Eventing Update
For the last couple of years we have closely followed the ups and downs of Kate Rogers. She has been a Herdz sponsored rider for many years, and has never ceased impressing us. Now Kate shares with us her newest adventure. Kate and her partner Todd have bought a fantastic horse property. They’ve set themselves up on 50 acres at Mt Beppo, just 5km from Toogoolawah. “It’s nestled below the Brisbane ranges on a large plain, not far from Somerset Dam.” Kate said of their new home. “The block is mostly flat with some slight slopes, which makes it perfect for horses,” Kate explains humbly. The ever-thinking eventer has already found the best fitness training location and will have the portable cross country jumps set up this week. As they say in real estate, location, location, location. Most competitors know, the hardest part and biggest expense is usually the travel. Being situated central to most Queensland One Day Events, Shows and campdrafts is a huge advantage, cutting down on travel costs, as well as being able to compete horses without the added stress of traveling long distances regularly. Kate and Todd’s new property so far has stables, a round yard and flat riding areas. Plans for the future include an all-weather surface arena, wash bays as well as pasture improvement and permanent fencing solutions. We’re wishing Kate and her partner Todd all the best in developing their own Equestrian facility and look forward to future announcements regarding their plans for the property. To add an end note as a testament to how hard Kate works, in preparing this little update, we were getting messages from Kate before she went to work at 4.30 am and more messages when she was finishing for the day at 10.00pm, we take our collective hats off to you Kate! Congratulations.
